I have chainsaws and chainsaw accessories.
My grandpas always had a start issue but cut real nice once it got started. I will i would have kept it just for sentimental reasons.
A start issue with what saw? Not sure what MFG you are referring to. Please advise. My grandpas always had a start issue but it cut real nice once it got started. I will i would have kept it just for sentimental reasons.
I've been running a saw since I was 14. Been hooked since. I'm 39 years old now. My first saw I ran was my dad's. Stihl 048Hi its my 15th birthday today i'v officially been running saw for 3 years now just wondering when some of you guys started, and how long you've been at it
At least 20,000 tanks since 1981. Something like 10,000 cords and 500,000 bf of sawlogs and veneer. Possibly an understatement
40+ years. I started with an electric chainsaw a few years before I started with the regular 2 stroke chainsaw in 1975.

Old poulans/craftsmans and even the newer ones I've come across were very simple and cheap to get running. I would never get rid of any of my Grandfathers saws.It was a poulan.
My first saw was a Poulan in 1975 as reported above. I never had a start issue with it until a friend borrowed it., straight gassed it, and the dealer said it was cooked. Even now I have a Craftsman 4218 that another friend gave me and it starts beautifully. Funny thing is that people make fun of it. I never have because it starts, runs, and cuts rather well. Some say it was designed to run 100 hours and die, never to be repaired. Perhaps that's true. I haven't found that out yet.It was a poulan.
Maybe a million trees Roger, but just like grass, they won't stop growing.Probably..... you da man, John!!
