Hello all,

I'm trying to trade my JM stamped Marlin 783, it's a tube fed bolt action .22 magnum. Hooded front sight, beautiful stock, bluing is in real good shape as well also comes with an original Marlin leather sling. I have a couple of other .22 magnums and this one doesn't get shot too often, she's a tack driver though, and every time it comes to the range with me I can't help but smile after the first shot.

The only flaw I know of is around the trigger guard is starting to peel a little, see picture 4 (right under the trigger)

I'd prefer a trade for a 70+ cc saw not looking for show room new! looking for something like a husky 372, Stihl 044, 440, 460 jonsered 2172 or similar. Pm me with any question or additional picture requests.

I'll pay to ship the rifle to your ffl. If you're in PA and within an 3 hour drive (my zip is 19446) I'd be willing to meet halfway, bill of sale will be filled out for the rifle. I can add some cash on top for something real nice. I value the rifle at $400.

I have that same rifle safety is reversed than most you pull it back to fire. micro grooved barrel a tack driver.whish I had
a saw to trade.you mite do better on gunbroker.

That is a fine looking gun but will be a tough trade for what you are looking for

I agree, Got a couple of nibbles and a few offers, couple that are too rich, a couple I'm interested in. Gotta do a little research on a few things as well.

Well I have done quite a few saw/gun trades and they as with all other trades need to be balanced. I am not trying to disrespect you but that is not a $400 gun

There are 3 currently on gunbroker right now,
1. ( $525) http://www.gunbroker.com/item/623515856
2. ($599) http://www.gunbroker.com/item/625556838
3. ($290) http://www.gunbroker.com/item/625819087

Gun number 3 has poor bluing and no sling, slings have sold for $50-75 in the past.

In my opinion $400 is a fair price. Everybody values things differently, just like I think some of the chainsaws on here are overpriced by a lot, others don't.

Those are asking prices not sold items. The value is in the eye of the beholder

So are the prices in the classifieds.

$400 is a starting point for me, there's always room to negotiate on both sides. When you sell a saw do you list it for your absolute bottom dollar or do you add a couple bucks so there's some negotiating room?

I've had offers on this gun in the $350-$375 range plus the shipping (~$30 bucks) so I listed at $400. Plus I said in my post I'd add cash to the deal if need be. Not that I need to justify my price to you, Bill.

I've decided to put up my glock 19 package for barter as well, I wish I could figure out how to edit my original post and change the title.

Glock 19 with trijicon night sights, 4 mags and a Comptac M-tac holster, I've got close to $800 into all of this, looking for a 70+cc saw to mill with.

No holster wear...

No barrel wear.

I just sold a Glock 21 (45ACP) with 7mags and a leather holster for $400. Via craigslist it took about a month with dozens of guys wanting it for free, delivered and a hat.

I also have a 21SF but it's got some upgrades, zev tec fulcrum trigger and firing pin, tlr-1 HL. I love that gun, not a carry piece but it's on my nightstand every night!

I'd imagine much easier to do this locally. FFL shipping is a PITA and kind of $$. Around here the cheapest I've seen is $25 per gun, some places are $50-$75.

With shipping, you'd be at least ~$75-100 for the rifle and ~$50-75 for the pistol (least here they are supposed to get air shipped UPS/FEDEX and not USPS.

I have two FFL dealers locally. One is free and the other $5. The free one likes to talk a lot, I mean a real lot, so I usually just pay the 5 bucks. :)
