I almost bought a dolmar 6100 yesterday but I am a slow buyer. The dealer I think offered a fair deal.
He would take my stihl 029 for trade and give me 3 new chains 20 in bar and the 6100 all for $407.00 out the door.
I think I may should take it. What are your thoughts?

It's a good deal IF the 290 isn't doing the jobs you need it to. Around here a good 290 is an easy sale at $250 anytime. If his regular price with those chains and bar is less than 407 plus what you could sell your 290 for, then take you time deciding. The 029 and 290 saws have cut a lot of firewood for people. Yes they're clammshell deign, and no they're not in the pro category, but they'll last a long time.
