I posted this video to YouTube, most of it is sped up for time sake, but I wanted someone to look at the wood and verify that it is Ash.

You can see the wood at 2:15, 3:50, 5:20 and 10:30 so you can skip around. I got the log from a co-worker and the people that cut it down said it was Ash. I am not saying it isn't Ash, it just that I have never seen Ash with stripes like this before, the Ash I have always seen is a light color.

Yeah darker than usual but the grain pattern sure looks like it could be ash to me. Ash is funny sometimes it can have some very dark centers or be completely white.

May differ between the different varieties but I don't know ash well enough to speak on that. Maybe a closer up shot of the bark if possible that would help. I know ashes bark pretty well because there's so many dead ones around me any more.
