This is 390 with a 385 top end installed and a stock 13k coil.
Runs and oils as it should.

Cracked air deflector, This one still works but I will pick one up next time I’m in the city if it don’t sell before then.

Piston has one scratch that looks to have come from carbon. It was buffed out before assembly and won’t be an issue.

Looking for $550 shipped, any questions send me a PM.

So the better components of each model.
Great guy to work with.
GLWS Shane.

thanks Brett. the 13k coil is still stock but this saw is significantly stronger then the other stock one i had listed. ran them both back to back, same top end, same coils, same carbs,, same bar/chain but this one is ported, it's a much nicer saw to run. it's up for now but i'll keep it if i get to busy to ship again.

Interested in the saw...Why is the 385 top end better than a 390 top end?

Pm sent
Better port #s to start with . Once ported they are pretty much similar depending on porting goals.
385s are tremendous saws. Rarely reach for 395 when you have a 385 ported proper.

truth is that stock for stock very few could tell and ported for ported very few could tell either lol were not talking a dramatic difference between the 2 and the better thing about the 385 as a porter is you are starting with shorter durations much like the difference between the old 066/660. the 1mm bigger bore of the 390 needs the be fed so it ends up wanting a bit more port duration anyways to make it's best power.
some have argued that the 54mm 385 is a smoother running saw as that is the original top end for the case. the clutch on the newer 390's is said to be heavy dutier and it is, the problem is the new one is so heavy that it engages right now when you hit the throttle whereas the old one let the saw get some RPM's happening first. the old clutch makes for a better behaved saw for bush work and lasts longer if you always use a removal tool on them. never use the shoe notches to smash off those clutches as you will break the shoe guides!
this top end was ported a long time ago and i ran it when it was on the 385 bottom end. it was either me or one of my buds that ported it long ago but i did an inspection before assembly making sure all beveling was good which it was. also cleaned the exhaust port and chamber, no base gasket and a good runner. $500 shipped is cheap for this saw, gonna cost $70 to ship lol
