Yeah its a gross messed up tree. I do have a larger 90hp tractor I might employ if anything as a anchor for my winch rig. Unfortunately I'm in backwoods Alabama and I have no friends with a d9
 
It actually looks easier to me now that I see it up close. Just do it the same way you would eat an elephant, one bite at a time. For example, the branch that comes toward the camera, put in some snap cuts, hook your winch to it and pull it out of the way.

As I mentioned before, cut small pieces from the tip, drag them away. As you get all the dross cleared out, it will look a lot easier.

This is basic storm damage work we have to do without tractors and winches, just saws and groundies. It can be done safely.
 
That’s what I’ve been doing. Just a cut then snap the piece with my winch. Little 3’ sections at a time.
