There are still quite a few guys that respond to technical questions and provide some help to get saws running or to find parts, etc.
I always thought it was Cat In the Hat?

No replies in days. 
Much of the old crowd has simply moved on and the new crowd couldn't care less about em..., and/or are probably glad some or most of em are finally gone. Plus it seems like every time we sign in somewhere these days there's a raffle for someone at the top of the subject list. Lots of folks are simply turned off by the solicitation factor if they're not part of the inside group supporting the beneficiary of the effort. Frankly, the term 'favoritism' seems to be a fairly accurate one when it comes to how folks view these events..., which can certainly breed resentment and exclusion rather than the desired result.
Hell, lots of members could probably use some help but aren't seein' anyone jumpin' up and down raising money for them. Not casting any particular aspersions, here. Just saying what lots o' folks are probably thinkin'..., if they even open these threads in the first place.
And the fact that Jeremy's situation generated such a monumental amount of activity can't be ignored as having an impact on folks' charitable resources probably being tapped a little thin in general right now, too. Can't blame folks for not having what they'd otherwise be willing to give.
Certainly no fault of Jon's, yours, the sponsors of the effort, or anyone else. Just a combination of change over here, unfortunate timing, and the way it is.

Meh, if anyone has used this resource for any amount of time Jon has helped or made them chuckle. If you can't help and anyone makes you feel guilty you should PM me and I will send you some parts to get your saw going, and then kick the member in the junk.

You are entitled to you opinion and some of what you say is correct but I somewhat feel you are still insinuating something unsaid.
Let me be clear Jon did not ask for this we forced it on him. If others need help but have no one to speak up for them then to me that says they aren’t really a member of a community.
Frankly with the value of the prizes being double the donation target I don’t care who the money goes to I would want in on some of that action.
When I first joined this site I didn’t know anyone or anything. Now I have some close friends and Stihl don’t know much... I bought in to the first raffle not because I knew anyone involved but I wanted a chance to win some pretty cool ****. I won a ported saw from @Mastermind Worksaws and from that point on we chatted regularly and have become friends. As a matter of fact anytime I need a good chuckle I can call Randy and have a good laugh. (Yes I am saying he talks funny...)
Just a few politely stated facts without using words like clique, elitism, preferential...., perhaps more descriptive terms for the 'unsaid' aspect you're referring to?
And whose community would that be? Yours? That's a pretty cold statement and pretty much just made my underlying point. If you don't sit at the cool kids table, you're not going to receive the same treatment as the cool kids. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of great people involved in this. There are.
There are also a lot of folks who may be in equal need that go unnoticed simply because they choose a different style of community participation or involvement. That doesn't make them any less deserving. Just a lot less likely to be the recipients of these types of efforts. That's all I'm saying.
I'm not here to argue about any of this. I simply responded to the general dismay being conveyed about the lack of participation toward the cause over here. No more. No less.
I generally applaud folks who undertake these efforts. I realize doing so is not an easy task. I also generally contribute to the extent that I may be able because I'm a charitable person, not because I want to 'get in on the action'.
Some of these events go better than others for any number of reasons. I stated a few. Having folks complain about the lack of participation certainly doesn't help the cause in a positive way or convey a very good look, though. Turns people off even more..., no matter who you are or where you're from.
Here's wishing Jon the best and to a successful rally before the bell for some very cool stuff donated by some very generous contributors. Hopefully someone who needs a new saw actually wins one.

Paypal can be sticky, if they get wind of a raffle, they will close your account.
PayPal does not like raffles - they reportedly have cut off some accounts of members trying to do this in earlier raffles.
PayPal takes a % out too if you don't link your bank account to them.
Go Fund Me % is optional - you do not have to donate.

Wait, am I a cool kid now because I donated? "In the clique"? Or are there levels of coolness or "eliteness" depending on how much I give? So I can be even cooler?
I bought some raffle tickets at the Osseo Heritage Days and Mushroom Festival this weekend and one last weekend for the Hillsdale Conservation Club rifle raffle. What does all of that mean? Am I cool with them too, or just like to donate?

I could be wrong, but the post along with his title I sense some history. I'm not a member of the other site either, but none of that matters. I think @PogoInTheWoods should take up for someone who he feels is left out. I will help with a prize and donation.
