Sorry...no pics of the work I did on the 550xp....more concentrating on getting it done right. I did a muffler mod n turned the forbidden screw ccw a 1/4 of a turn.
This saw I purchased in 2012 n it did not have the brass plug in it that apparently the newer one's do.
I just drilled out a secondary hole next to the one that's already there under the screen.
Cleaned them all up n here they are....

I have a couple of saw that I have ported by Wicked Work Saws. They will make you grin from ear to ear when you use them. My other saws don't see near enough action. The ported ones are always the go to saws. Been thinking about getting some light weight bars for my kids. Does it make much difference?

I think it makes a difference more so as the bars get longer .....all the bars I got were at a very good price!
The 562 n the 395 has full wraps...I got a very good deal on them.....between the 2 I paid 45.00 with shipping....

How does the 395 do pulling the 60" bar? My 395 generally wears a 36". I have a 42" that I put on it when the occasion arises. I was thinking the 395 was supposed to be good for a 48" bar. I'm not a logger, I do better with a bar that reaches all the way thru the tree. Don't have to line up the cuts.

It does fine it’s not very often I’ll pull it out nor would I recommend one for most people it’s a lot of flexible bar to try to start in a cut. If I did it again I’d get a 50” but at the time we had a job that had some 6’+ cedar that was on a pretty steep hillside so the choices were the long bar or try to spring board up the far side.
