Thought I’d share the 3pt log grapple I’m
just finishing up for our Deere tractor. Should make moving logs out so much easier now and keep them up out of the mud.

Grapple opens to a total of 55” width when fully extended, made it this way to make lining up easier and less dependent on being dead on when I back up to a log.

The main housing is all 1/2” steel and the arms are 3/8. Used DOM tube for pivot points and some scrap 8620 1.00” steel for the shafts.

Right now I’m waiting on my hydraulic cylinder to show up and then I’ll be able to get it all plumbed up

I think you will hate the chain, it's going to flail around pretty bad.

I have centering springs that hook up to the main grapple head along with travel limiting chains to prevent too much fore and aft movement.

I had just finished painting it in these pics so they are not hooked up yet as I didn’t want them covered in paint.
