I have a newer 261 and was wondering if there was a full compliment or metal cage needle bearing that would hold up better than the plastic cage one . I had a older 261 that the bearing failed and messed up the crank . Trying to avoid this again . Yes I do grease them when i put on a new chain

I can't say much as I've never had one fail, and I don't necessarily inspect them very often. I used to put grease on them but I stopped doing that, with the theory that the grease might attract dirt. I guess I'll see how that pays off. I did order one to have on hand for my 661, I guess if I were going through them I'd probably keep a few on hand.
