TSC/County Line splitter: what is it?

I saw this on a new splitter at TSC today. They upped the tonnage to 25tons and then there is this....

Its right at the pivot point to tilt the beam up to split vertically. There is one on the other side as well. It looks like the ability to rotate the beam......
 
That's a new feature this year pivots for storage. Glad they got rid of the laminated foot of the past year or so.

Mine is two and a half years old it has the forged foot and it runs really good. Will try to find some pics better than this.

Does the manual indicate that design is for saving storage space? I thought it was to save room for shipping purposes. But saving space in storage and shipping is basically the same.

The first and only 40 toner I've seen ,and this was when they first came on the market,had something similar.Don't know what it's for.SB47 will know.
