Ok so i rebuild a ms 311 with a used pistion cylinder and i cleaned all of the carbon off and had it runing for a bit then let it sit for a week and went to go do a compression test and theres like a lot of carbon and what seems to be rust or orange somthing what could this be?

Used rings are usually dirty with carbon and a little rust. A lot of crud builds up on the inside surface too. If you didn't clean them up then it's likely the rusty color is coming from there.

Just realised i used some steel wool lighty thats prob why theres some rist but everything got break clean sprayed at the end

Well at least i dident run it when there was rust there so it should be fine lesson learned and i plenty more to learn
