I am looking for a replacement chain for my 20" Remington. I currently use the Orgeon H78 chain but wondered what other chains would be recommended.

I mainly cut birch and the occasion hardwood (maple, ash, oak). I will be cutting wet and dirty wood as well.

I want to buy another so I have a spare chain just in case.

Thanks,

Aaron

I have new Oregon #33LG - .o50 = .325 = 78D. $20.00. Also a used same size 80 % of chain usable $15.00 This is Oregon number used when the first 325 was started. Plus shipping. Contact me [email protected] for more information.

Oregon 20lpx078 will work.

I second the suggestion for 20-series Oregon. I’d even use it in dirty wood as it is really easy to touch up with a file. You could use the semi-chisel version if you wanted a longer-lasting edge, but I find it harder to get a (relatively...it’s semi chisel) edge on that cutter profile by hand so I just use 20-series round files chisel for all my .325 chains.
