272xp ignition coil on 266xp ?

hi guys
Do someone know if this is possible to replace the 2 pieces ignition coil of a 266xp by the 1 piece coil of a 272 ? The wire is cracked/broken so I think this is why I cant shut it down unless by choking it.

I don't know if you can put a one piece coil on it but the aftermarket ones are cheap. You could also use shrink tubing to repair the one you got.

I don't think so, pretty sure the case has more space for the wider 272 coil on those cases. So not enough room on the 266 case for the other coil. I can check on some cases tomorrow but that is what I recall.

It's not. Many vendors have this wrong in their listings.
61/66, 162/266 have the same SEM 3-pole, 2-piece ignition.
268/272 have the EMAB 2-pole, 1-piece, like 50/51/55, 154/254/257/262.

I cannot find 2 pieces OEM coil on eBay.
Is AM coil reliable or I would be better to continue using my OEM coil and shut off chainsaw by choking it ? I can remove spark screen so it would not restrict airflow with carbon buildup. Beside the shut down issue the coil seems to work well. It would not be a flip saw, im gonna keep it
