Need some info here I got a new to me light used 511a I was wondering it look to be set up for buncher chain 3/4 chain so I confirm it and it is set up for 3/4 chain do I have to change the chain vise on it to sharpen saw chain 3/8 .325 .404 exc what do I need to do it has no manual

I don't think the 511a was designed for 3/4, so it may have been modded somehow to accommodate it. I do not know what converting it back would involve. My recollection is the manual for the 511a was pretty basic; if I can find mine I'll reply again. But replacing the vise assembly might make sense.

I just talked to the fella I got it from he told me all I should have to do is adjust the vice back to smaller chain so it will clamp and change stone he set it up to grind feller 3/4 chain but that's all he did to it idk I'll say with it and see I guess

We have setup to do 3/4, the vise is different as well as the pawl for the 11 series chain vs a 18 or 19 series harvester chain.

Are you going to be going rakers as well with this grinder? Which series of 11 chain are you grinding BC or H?

511A manual attached.

511A was for 1/4" to .404" pitch chain. The 511A-BC was designed for 3/4" chain. Need a replacement chain vise and different wheel to go back and forth.
