Stihl 028 Super fuel line

I bought a fuel line for this saw, seems to be somewhat short. It fits perfectly to the carb, but the filter barely touches the bottom of the tank. I think I'm not getting fuel to the carb. New pulse line as well. Are there different lines for different years? Saw will fire on prime.

That's how they were. Some newer 028's had the current style hose it in. The two hoses use different size holes in the tank.
You can retrofit if very careful. Edges MUST be smoothed.
Yes, it looks wrong but its been working for...… 30 years approx. (?)
