Husq 55. From what I can tell I need to get ahold of it from inside the tank and push it out the right side. Install reverse order. Correct?

And, does a leaking vent effect performance?

Fish hook removal pliers made that simple. Thanks.
Did not see problem with the old one but my eyes do not work well at close small stuff.
I suppose the saw is old enough to leak a little.

Dealer told me the leak would affect carb tuning. I was skeptical but learned not to say anything.

For years when someone asked me what new saw to buy, I reply one from a dealer you like or get along with. Still my standard answer.

A blocked vent will affect tuning. A leaking vent will not.
In production, some supplied batches of tank vents were not sufficiently porous.
The engine tune would become leaner and leaner as the tank contents was consumed.
The fix was to punch 2 or 3 tiny holes in the white disc with a stainless steel wire tool.

Stick with a good dealer though.
