I have a 310 Stihl I like using but its been stalling out if you back off the throttle some, it starts fine and when bucking at full throttle it's fine so my question is, what could be making stall out?

The gas I use is non ethanol which was just bought over a week ago and mixed.

Clean air filter? Maybe the carb just needs adjusted a tad.

Everything was clean going out and it happened about the third or four cut while limbing. I did notice the next saw I used was the 390 which had a little chirp to it while idling and the 310 doesn't.

I cussed a 440 that would run full out and drop a tree beautifully but would die out every time you tried to limb with it. Idled great, ran all out great, didn't like having the throttle worked. Turned out a carb rebuild fixed it.
