I run a container based nursery in Alberta, both for trees I buy as liners, and larger ornamentals and fruit trees.

I've had some poor results potting up 2 gallon scots pine in the fall -- one time with 90% mortality.

Can anyone point me to a source that lists times not to transplant, or conditions to transplant for various species?

Is this from seed or drawf? Are you trying different sources here as well? I would imagine that you could probably find yourself a guide from provincial tree directory if they have one. I know that Ontario has one, it's a pain to navigate - but it's there.

Search fall dig hazard trees.

I believe Bill Hendricks (Klyn Nurseries I think) has put out lists of fall dig trees to avoid.
