X2 on a bad batch of gas.
My local gas station sells 87 corn gas only. 40:1 with regular stihl 2 stroke in all my equipment and I’ve yet to have an issue in over 10 years. Just stating my experience. Nothing more.

My experience running saws is they much prefer regular octane fuel not premium. While I never use E10 whenever I've had to run premium my saws did not run as well and appeared to run radiate more heat. For me what's most important is RVP (Reed Vapour Pressure), fresh gas has high RVP and as it ages it looses its volatility. Old gas is no good whatever it is.
