I'd be pissed too, did you both at least shake hands on the deal? Why not get it right when you found it, scheduling conflict? Any time I source free wood, especially if already bucked into logs, I try to get it ASAP - you're basically doing the person as much a favor getting rid of it for them quickly as it is them providing you wood fuel. Quid pro quo.
