I sold a couple saws this week. Now I have some cashola, the one thing I want to do is replace the 28 inch Oregon Power Match with a light weight bar on my MS440. Mostly I use the 440 exclusively for falling. At least half the trees I go after are Ponderosa Pine, which I almost always bore cut since I have seen a few too many barber chairs on big Pondos, too many mine own falls. Bore cuts solve that, but I have heard Sugi's tip rollers tend not to live long when doing a lot of bore cuts. What's that leave except a 25 inch Stihl 3/8 bar? I don't see a longer ES Light bar at StihlUSA site.

And where/who would you order from if there is a recommendation?

Thanks for the thoughts. I look forward to a better balanced saw, the PowerMatch makes it a bit bar heavy.

Here’s the part number for a 28” ES Light in 3/8 pitch, .050 guage: 3003 000 2238. Have your dealer order it.

Stihl lightweight bars aren’t the stiffest, but the rails wear better and the sprockets are better than the rest of the lightweight bars, and most other bars in general, available.

I couldn't find that bar to save my life. Thank you, perfect answer. My local dealer is great. Kicks the odd full teardown repair my way now and then and always is gracious when I'm hotrodding a saw he would of left alone.

Gentlemen, Just wanted to follow up and let you know I like it! Local dealer price $119. Saw balances perfectly from front handle. Thank you!
