ThanksMeasure your old rivets closely with calipers, jump on EBay and search 'solid countersunk rivets' & find your size. A bag of say 100/200 will be a few bux delivered from PRC.
+1. I have made several. They all have worked. You need matching diameters of mild steel and then cut to length. I usually cut and machine ordinary machine screws or bolts that I have on hand. It can be done.Try another shop or make your own.
The biggest problem with either nails or bolts is matching up the diameter and cutting to correct length. It takes some machining and patience. I have made length-cutting jigs with hardwood that I then use to set the length. That works for awhile, but the jigs wear out. New sprocket tips run anywhere from $15 to $20, but now and then they are hard to find. Dealers hate selling sprocket tips to you. They want you to buy a new bar instead. How about using nails as rivets? There soft enough to form rivets then grind or sand them flush.
What is "em"? The rivets, the bar nose sprockets, or both?Bailey's sells em..., pricey as one would expect.
