Remove top cover, cylinder will be marked 51.4 if 75cc. May state on top cover white tag, it reads 75cc. Story on clutch cover?

They are orange
Previous owner said his father did that

Why????
Who knows

As it turns out
The wife freaked when she saw I bought a new toy
So it’s gonna go to the classifieds section

I've never owned one but have put a lot of hours on the one my brother owns. It doesn't take much time with a 372XPW to realize why they were, and are so popular. The power to weight is top of the pile for that cc range, excellent design, anti-vibe, and broad/smooth power curve with plenty of power for big wood with longer bars on them. I still consider a 24" full comp about the most I'd use on one and they really shine with a 20" bar for most of the cutting we do in these parts........Cliff

I’m trying to figure out which saw to sell
The xpw or my ported 2171 from hacked up saws

Have owned and used several stock 372xpw's 75cc saws and way too many 372xp's 71cc saws. If looking for fastest cutting saw keep that ported 2171. If cool factor it's 372xpw and have it ported. Never noticed a big difference between 372xpw and 372xp, actually thought 372xp ran stronger. For what it's worth.;)

Can’t comment on your ported jred , but I can say that there is more value in a stock saw that is in excellent condition. If you take care of it, I think it can remain a good investment. Other than that, it is a non strato saw that it in good shape should be relatively trouble free with good maintenance.

When people talk about the 372 being a great saw 90% of the time they mean the model you have IMO.
Other than a heated handle version it doesn’t get much better than this.
