I got around to pulling one of my old blue/white XL-12's out of storage about 3 days ago.

The guide bar and chain on the XL-12 are like a giant magnet !! It's seriously strong.

When I took the bar/chain off, I unknowingly laid my best screwdriver on the bar for a second... now its magnetized.

Is there any way to de-magnetize my screwdriver, as well as the bar and chain?

Snap-on,,used to sell a small thing,,to magnetize screwdrivers and such,,and by running on the other side,,it would de-magnetize it....

You need an AC field. If you have a soldering gun or corded drill. You could try running it and placing the bar next to it to degauss it. I believe any AC field or motor should work.

You can buy them or make them but a demagnetizer will do the job. My father repaired clocks and watches back in the 80's and he used a L&R brand, I picked one up used on fleebay for around $25 shipped if you catch one at the right time. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Watchmakers-L-R-Demagnetizer-for-the-Watchmaker-Jeweler/392325130414?hash=item5b586668ae:g:C3QAAOSwKYFdGfSA&LH_ItemCondition=4 or for something the size of a bar you could use one like machinist use https://www.ebay.com/itm/DEMAGNETIZER-TOOLS-SUCH-AS-DIES-CUTTERS-AND-PUNCHES-NEW/283552137712?hash=item42050641f0:g:CdEAAOxye5BRETE~

You can also make one yourself out of an old motor, shade pole motor's work great and I have made them in the past doing this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kKTJQTyX-w&t=661s Just remember not to use it to long or it will over heat and burn up the coils, you can also use them to magnetize things as well.
