Who's this husky rep you're taking about for curiosity sake
The ported 2100 by the husky rep was an animal. She beat the other saws by five seconds. And I think the saw was held back. When I’m done rebuilding 2100’s if I have any left over parts will match the ported husky specs. I have a few 2100’s, 285’s 480’s.

How do you degree the main intake port when it’s not visible with the degree wheel?
By modifying the main intake port were allowing more fuel into the crankcase at a longer duration.?
-10 points for failure to use the multi quote button.

You should be able to see the intake port timing. It's right there. Behind the air filter. Then the carb. Then the boot/block.

By lowering the floor, yes, you're increasing the time allowed for fuel to get into the motor. But every degree you go down is also a degree that the piston is not compressing the charge before the transfers open

I have no talent so I am following along with your hunting and porting thread so I can learn

Do you want some cheese with that wine? Or are u funnin with me?

So someday we can leave the porch and run with the big dogs too? Lol

You trust doing that?

Again the pro loggers on the west coast are running longer bars with ported saws no problem?

Do your ported saws only run shorter bars?
The key is only a reference for locating the flywheel. The taper is what locks it in place.

I dont know anything about loggers on the west coast. Most saws I do run 16-24" bars in hardwood.

I try running the length of bars that the saw owner is planning on running, or at least big enough to cut the test logs I currently have. If I dont have a big enough log I'll use a bigger sprocket to increase the load on the saw to resemble cutting with a longer bar.

Your right the taper will hold the mating part inplace the key is a safety factor. But I’d rather make an offset key then file a stock one offset. With me it’s murphys law what ever can go wrong will.

How come you don’t wear chaps when cutting? Safety first. Longer bars can throw off longer chains. Trust nothing. I had one throw a longer chain once, stand more to left....... it brushed the inside of my pants. If it whipped up, ? I was done having kids anyway. Lol

I’ve seen one saw cut into flesh it makes a square cut going in, straight on the sides and rips flesh n meat coming out, not pretty. I rushed him to the er.

I'm always to the left. But I should wear chaps, yes
