hi,
Just noticed there is excessive movement in the rear handle of this saw. Closer inspection revealed the annular buffer spline at the top of the saw at the carb housousing has sheared flush.
Will take apart tomorrow but the question is how should I remove the sheared spline screw? Any help is most w clone.
Thanks,

Sometimes, there enough sticking into the hsg to grip it with a needle nose style Vice Grip. I had to grind a small amount off one side.
They break often on 044's ~ MS460's when the compression relief isn't used.
The screw can be drilled. Carefully.
Had a customer who ran the bite crooked and drifted into the polymer. We got it out, went oversize and just used a modified nut on the airbox side.
Works fine. That was actually on an 084.
So, I would advise putting the single malt aside.
At least until the job is done, successful or not.

Thanks for the reply, will have a look tomorrow. Not in Scotland now so it will be a Suffolk Adnams beer tonight.
Cheers
