Echo 2511T Muffler Mod Instructions/Pics?

I was wondering if anyone had some good pictures and instructions of how they muffler modded a 2511T.

I’ve done a lot of searches and have found some varied info and a few pics, but the pics were from full cat-removal/ welding jobs that I don’t have the capability to do. I did find one good pic showing the internals.

My biggest question is this: are the additional holes/slots just going through the exterior shell of the muffler or are they cutting all the way through the interior piece that has the cat built in? And where is the best place to do this that isn’t going to melt a hole in the cover? Thanks.
 
Update:

So after breaking the saw in this weekend I decided to put a new Stihl 63PM chain on it. I figured I probably wouldn’t do the muffler mod in case I need the warranty but once I had the cover off, I thought I’d check out the muffler anyway. I decided to drill a hole through the baffle from the inside but was going to leave the front untouched, so it wouldn’t be noticeable. Well I over-shot through the baffle and the front metal was so thin it put a dent with a tiny hole in it, so I went ahead and drilled it out. At this point I kinda regretted starting the project. It’s not a major hole, I think it ended up at 7/32nds, but it’s a straight shot through.

I tuned it up as best as I could by ear. Here was the final tuning cut in a red oak we cut last year. It felt really strong. I think I had it too rich before and it seemed a lot easier to hear the difference between the 2 and 4-stroke on video after the hole.

I didn’t know there was a non-CAT muffler

The user manual has A030000860 has the stock part number, but the parts sites have the A030000851 as a 2511T muffler and it says no cat. I might try it out for $40.

Looking at the Echo Canada 2511T manual, the 851 is listed as the OEM replacement. Are Canadian emission standards lower than the US?

The Canadian parts fiche is broken into two groups by serial #. Mine is in the second group which uses the 851 muffler. The other group uses the 860.
I ASSumed Canada has the same emissions as the USA.
My manual says EPA 2010 and/or CARB Tier 3.
My saw was purchased new September of 2018 & one of the first at my dealer,

I'll be modding and porting my 2511t in the next few months. I could post some info up

I grind the stock little deflector off on a bench grinder and make a much bigger hole to the south.

Then I mark out a small red97 deflector.

I've been scouring the internet for information on modding this saw and it's slim pickings. Seems like everyone thinks their mufflers have cats in them. Lot of bypassing the cat talk. I wonder how many of these saws actually do. Could it be regional? Tonight I'm going to make a thread about porting and muffler modding them. Hopefully that will help others out.
