Good filament in that one to ne able to melt glass before she blew. Could be a slight overvoltage problem. Maybe just a hot location with no ventilation.
 
Over heat, over volt, oil on exterior.

In the various quartz halogen fixtures if a lamp was installed with a bare hand and not thoroughly cleaned afterwards it would quickly grow a blister and then break. Good times.

See it in headlights.
 
My F-150 had a bunch of rainwater sloshing around in the overhead brake light housing for who knows how long, but the light bulb still lit.
