Found this in a 028 Super and not seen a 4 till today. I stick with a 6 or 7
That's a cold plug.

IIRC, the lower the number, the hotter the plug (for NGK). If that is correct, that's a hot plug. BPMR7A all day long.

School me in for the use of hot or colder plugs in two cycles?

Too cold of plug will foul/loadup, too hot and you get pre-ignition/knocking. If mix and carb are right plug should be light tan.

Different makers have different systems for heat range makings.

That's the ticket for 70 year old Ford 9/2/8Ns. Called for a H10 champion, H12s (hotter) won't foul as easily.
