Usually find the o-ring, but it is squished into a thin hair against crank and needs a pick to find it.

Yeah, its not there. At least thats done. Now to put her all together and p&v test her again. Like I said, thanks alot for your help. Just didnt want to force anything.

Glad it finally worked out.
Ok fellas, well got it back together and now it aint leaking from the seal, its leaking between crankshaft and sleeve. Do you have to reassemble it with the clutch like the 044 to get an accurate p&v reading?

O-ring in and sleeve pushed down firmly?
I think so. There wasnt much to the o ring. I rotated it clockwise to get it past the seal. It makes sense with the oring that it wouldnt leak.
The clutch will press the sleeve down and should seal it.

Agree, assemble it.

How long does it take to go from 7lbs of vacuum to zero on your gauge?
If the crank bearing surface was clean and the sleeve is in good shape that should have sealed it. Could some crud have got in there when you were putting it in?
About 3 seconds. Im pulling it again.

Put o-ring on, then small amount of grease in bushing before installing.
Good idea. I'm out of time tonight, tomorrow I'll try it. The o ring was not exactly tight, in other words didnt have to stretch it to get it over the shaft.

Hate when that happens. Youll get it though. You know the issue, just gotta get it nailed down. Darn gremlins....
Lol, got that right!! I checked the bearing surface, looked alright. Cleaned it up and am looking around for another o ring. Just a gut feeling, not happy with this one.
