So I just picked up a 100% complete saw w/ a bunch of literature from when it was purchased. An IPL, owners manual and warranty card.
The saw has the original 24" 7/16 Remington roller nose bar.
I replaced the fuel line and took apart the recoil and replaced the cord.
The saw is kinda dirty but it started right up and is unbelievable. The piston is pristine.
I'm looking to chat w/ a Remington guy for information.

I'm going to clean her up, sharpen the chain and give it a run.
Any idea as to a value? I might look to sell it to a Remington collector. I got it to try to get it to go but really needed very little. I'm just surprised at the extras that followed the saw all these years. I got a McCulloch 610 yrs ago with some paperwork but nothing like this.

Sadly, they're not worth a great deal. Even in that condition. Lot of people would regard the bar as the only worthwhile part there. I have a 75, in blue and white. It is the followup to the original Bantam. The Remingtons that are worth a bit are the gear drives, the larger direct drives like the 990 and 880 and maybe the later direct drives like the 770 or 773.

A 75A model will have the more typical left hand recoil.

I'm kind of fascinated by your saw, nonetheless.

Outstanding find there. [emoji106]

What carb does it have, Tilly or Carter?

Nice loop of 7/16” on it to boot. [emoji108]
I need to find a spark plug wrench because nothing I have will make it on the plug. Maybe that's why it still has the original plug.

You are probably exactly correct with the spark plug thing. Look for those thin arbor wrenches you would get with circular saws or table saws. 13/16 most likely.

I sent you a PM.

Now that the saw is primed and been ran a bit it will start on the 2nd pull every time. I'd like to get the plug out to test compression but need the correct plug wrench.

Checking compression on these old saws is overrated. You're likely to be disappointed by the numbers even on a good condition saw. Pull the muffler and check the piston. If that's clean, forget about the rest. Of course, you should still endeavor to change spark plug as needed.

I found this scratched into the flywheel cover any idea what it could be? Possibly the chain information by the looks of the numeric pattern.
