Stihl 066 poly flywheel

I am not really sure but i will agree that it is an interesting design but does look difficult to manufacture

Reviving an old thread, I was at work today when I noticed a piece of toolbox art that was shaped like a Stihl chainbrake handle covered in misc junk. Upon asking, I learned it was an 066 that didn't work as the original poly flywheel was messed up when the guy got it, so he put an aluminum flywheel on it and it runs, but it gets hot quickly and vaporlocks. Reading this thread, I learned that cannot happen as the flywheels aren't compatible, so can someone tell me how this might be possible?

You can get AM ally wheels that fit the large taper.
Maybe this is what's on it.
Wouldn't be a OEM ally wheel that's for sure.

Thanks for answering the first question @L34. Now that I know that, do any of you have thoughts on how to get it to run right with whatever flywheel it has?

MS660 has a plastic flywheel. you can use the flywheel here.

IMHO I'd find the correct OEM flywheel/coil combination

I checked today and it has a plastic flywheel. And bad case bearings. But I've discovered that it is only about 1 of 5 066's floating around the shop.
