At one time looked long and hard for a Poulan 8500 as that has been a few years and would have probably paid more than it was worth. Seems like now the Poulan desire has worn off and not a lot of interest unless a deal. The older ones were fantastic saws , but as mentioned some parts are getting hard to come by.

Poulan 4200 any love.
I ran one for about 30 years. I lost it when my barn burned down. Industrial quality all the way. A little heavy but not short on power. I removed the felling dawgs because they slowed the saw down when dropping thru red oak firewood with a 16 inch bar. The 4200 5200 and 8500 saws are incredible tools. Reed intake 2 strokes are the bomb. They act like high compression 4 strokes, but with a lot more blue smoke. Bought a few replacements. :)
