Wood ID please

20191029_114309.jpg 20191029_132919.jpg 20191029_132940.jpg I've been gathering wood and came across some standing dead . No bark nothing to ID it . But it's hard as a rock and doesn't split at all with the Fisker's. I had to use the timber wolf gas splitter felt kinda wimpy needing to use it on such small rounds . The wood splits but very reluctantly with strings all over20191029_114309.jpg
 
Rock elm is my guess.

BTW, you don't live in Pamelia do you? Along Rt 37? Probably lots of NY residents have classic Studebakers, but that's where I've seen vehicles like yours.
