I have a mint 036 Pro running a Tsumura 20” lightweight bar for sale. Would come with an extra 20” ES bar and seven extra 3/8” chains. This saw has not cut more than a chord of wood through it and I have the paperwork as I am the original owner of the saw. 575 shipped to the contiguous United States. Can accept credit cards with no service fee.

These are great saws. One of Stihl's best. Good price too. I sold a similar saw here in the PNW last year for $550 with about 50 hours on it and only one B&C. It sold in one day. It was 'near mint'.

Is the ES bar the original or just an extra you have? Lots of wear on it for 1 cord of wood, just asking!!!
It was the original bar but used on other saws some in years past. I am estimating a chord of wood as I just used it to cut deer camp wood on a Friday to last a couple days. After that it was cleaned and put away for the year. Saw Itself has barely any use on it.

Just beware of beater 036s with knock off and aftermarket parts. I have seen many. Also you may want to swap out the clutch drum and bearing for a 360 upgraded one. Easy to do, only flaw in the early 036 saws. Was a tech bulletin on it. I have it here someplace... the stock 036 clutch drum and bearing is a great upgrade on the 290.310.390 saws which have spur sprockets.

Don’t even think about it but I can accept credit cards....visa or master. No service fee

What was the problem with the original? Early bearing failure?

Yes. The smaller bearings failed and then the clutch grenaded. The 360 was updated with a larger bearing (same size bearing as the 440) which is in the 036 upgrade kit. The smaller 036 bearing and drum are a great update to the 290/310/390 saws so they can run rim instead of spur drives. I put several into my 310 saws. Never had any problems with them.

Good to know. Thanks.

I have an 036. I will be sure to keep the bearing somewhat fresh, until I need a new drum...then, will switch out for the newer one.

I don't own any of those saws which take the old 036 drum.

I had one of the smaller bearings let loose on one of my 036. Caught it before it hurt clutch or crank. I did the upgrade on my other 036 as a preventative

Is there anyway some 036 pro saws came with the upgrade? I owned 2 before the 360’s and I don’t remember either taking smaller rim sprockets. I have had several bearing failures on 361’s I think and 440’s for sure though and never torn anything up.

Yes, some of the later 036 models had the larger clutch drum and bearing like the 360. Both sizes are listed in the 036 IPL. There is no difference between the 036 pro and 036 regular saws in this regard though. The upgrade happened in all the 036 saws with serial numbers after 149398334 (German) and 348245041 (Brazil).

The clutch bearing in the later 036 and all 360, 440 and the 361/362 are the same. Needle cage bearing, 10x16x12. PN 9512 933 2380.

For what it's worth, I just listed a jewel i found in the rough. 036 PRO, all oem, great shape. I put a new Air filter, spark plug, and a 16" Duro Hard Nose bar w/ duro carbide chain. Also come with a yellow full comp chain. Very clean. Runs perfect. $700- I dont need to sell it. I would actually like to keep it. I know this: If you want a 362 CM and add a duro bar and duro chain, you are spending $950 after tax. Plus, some guys think the non m-tronic are better. So we'll see. I dont really want to sell it, but everything's got a price.
