Ok,

Bear with me as this is the first chainsaw I have ever completely taken apart and rebuild what i could.

List of new parts/things i did

Rings
cylinder (used in good shape)
Polished original piston. (Compression is good)
Removed decompression valve
Wrist pin bearing
Snap rings for wrist pin
Connecting rod bearings
Crank bearings and thrust bearings
All new gaskets
New crank seals
Cleaned and Rebuilt carb
Fuel line
Fuel filter
Cleaned gas tank
New spark plug
Set coil gap
(I am probably missing something on the list)

The fly wheel is installed with new Key.

Home made starter cup

The carb is sucking up fuel.

Ok, it is all back together and it wont start. One thing that I can think of I forgot to set the gap on the points. I will pull the fly wheel and check that and clean maybe polish/sand the contact points.

What am i doing wrong here. It is getting spark. It is not a super strong spark but looks to be enough to get it running.
I am open to all suggestions as k am stuck.

It’s getting air, fuel and spark.

You think its just the points or a weak coil? The saw definitely was used in its time.

What info can i give you to help?
