Hey all,

I have an opportunity to buy 5 saws as a lot for $175 off of my local Kijiji. Mostly Poo-lans, but there's also a Husky 61 in there that needs a tune-up.

I'm a Stihl guy by blood, but I'd like to teach myself how to tinker with chainsaws, and this'd be a good opportunity to get some practice in. I'm not too familiar with the Husky 61 though, are they decent quality? What would a used one be approximately worth?

Assuming an XL top handle? That one will probably need duckbill valves and even when it’s running is worth about $25.

Depends on which cc size on the Poulans, again $25-50 each running.

Unless it’s an easy fix I’d either offer less/offer to buy the 61 alone. You can turn the 61 into a 272 with a few parts and a couple hours of work.

None of those saws tickle my fancy except the 61. They cut pretty good with just the muffler opened up. More of a home owner type saw but still decent.
