A continuation of the effort to document life with aftermarket parts. Probably need to do a video to "keep score" but the litany goes along these lines. Did the series developing the Huzlt/Farmertec 660's to a work ready saw. Was wild;y successful and they really helped by evolving that saw model into the Blue G660....
So I went BACK to the 372's where the channel really started from with that first video series back around 2013 on the Huztl 372 build blending OEM parts from dead used past their service life into a workable saw...and then built "cyclops" (Huztl 52mm BB on X-Torq cases) . That was right around when both X-torq's and 562 Autotunes where beginning to take the stage after their 2010/2011 releases and all the documented issues. I was then distracted with a variety of things from 350's to Jonsered 2073, to Husqvarna 254's and then dominated with the AM 660's development video documenting that experience.
This last couple of years went BACK to focusing on aftermarket parts and now clone saws field testing the AM372 variants. ALL in parallel, the G372, G372xp, G372xt and also the Huztl/Farmertec cases, Hyway cylinders etc. Truth?? It's been CARNAGE! As compared to the 660's. ALL documented in these video's
The good news is the g372 and g372xt both were eventually useful, but even on the g372xt I had to swap out the fuel tank/handle to OEM....put it's handle on the first Junk Pile saws. That handle is still junk, needs to be removed and thrown away as its dangerous. See the JPS video for an explanation.
TO this video, it's a continuation of field testing those AM cases and a variety of top end options. I had started THREE Huztl case sets, these were the same design as are on the g372's, but different than the ones on the g372xp and g372t. The first was a Short Block with a 52mm Huztl BB, the crank's main bearing failed. Maybe as a result of the 185lbs of compression after a compression increase. Built what is now the "Junk Pile Saw" with the very used Madsen Modified OEM 50mm 372 top end with a Huztl piston around THAT set of cases...we will see how long it lasts. The second set of Huztl cases was used to build a work saw for a logger....with a Hyway 52mm Popup top end, wanted to test both Aftermarket parts. Both AM parts failed and this video is about taking the "bones" of that saw and doing yet another Junk Pile build with "less desirable by online experts" (LDOLE) parts.
A saw with yet ANOTHER aftermarket sourced part...a popup piston and on another set of those AM cases. So we will see how long they last.... But to the build and a little history of the origins of the parts used....
