So how the heck do they want me to file the rakers on this thing. These are some funny rakers

That was my first though. And what im going to do.

But seriously. What was Makita’s plan for fileing the rakers if a customer walked into a dealer?

Get 1-2 sharpenings out of it and then tell them to buy a new one.

Oregon Vanguard chain. I certainly don't prefer it but it cuts wood. Like others have mentioned, you can die grind the raker to a more conventional shape and get along just fine.

According to Oregon you file away the high edge closest to the cutter.
That's correct, if you've ever done it they aren't exactly fun.
Those chains can be made to cut well with a little extra hook, I have some here, just glad I have a raker grinder so I don't have to file the rakers.
