My friends saw took a direct hit. It is almost new, less than a dozen hours. It definitely needs a top cover, clutch cover, handle bar, brake hand guard. It lost three fins from the cylinder. Silly question but would you dare run it as is?

The top end looks good and if the case, crank are good then the saw is worth fixing. THose newer saws with a 1 at the end Stihl sure are proud of their parts as there is very little used or AM parts available yet.
If it was a 260 it would not cost much to fix. Most say they like a 461 over a 460, as they have not tried to buy parts for a 461 yet..as I will take a 460 anyday with everything equal. Just look at selling prices on Eaby what a good 460 will bring...
