Well that takes my suggestion out about using a 270 flywheel. But, you could look up PN: 1133 400 1204 (MS270 PN) & see what other compatible models the flywheel lists for & go from there. Just a thought, might very well be the last good one of this year too! :givebeer:

I forgot to mention: neighbor says it's a 280C which I thought was one of those easy start saws but he says it is not. Maybe it's been changed over. Flywheel doesn't have pawls on it, just conventional looking. I haven't seen the saw, he just brought the flywheel over and it's indeed broken.
There's an earlier thread on this that states that likely the 270 and 280 are not the same flywheel because the 270 went to IEM, whatever that is..

"C - Comfort can have one or more of the following features: Easy2Start™, Quick Chain Adjuster, ElastoStart™".
Do a Search in here for a MS280C IPL. Then you can see what it's supposed to be like.
EDIT: It shows a 280C in the IPL I have here.

I built a number of the MS270 and MS280 saws and they all used the same flywheels. Every one of them had torn out AV mounts and ripped carb manifolds.

One maybe two of the AV mounts are sketchy on my 270. Glad I have them here waiting to go in. Yay, more to look forward to and a carb manifold ta boot!
Oh Pioneerguy I was out at a persons place & they handed me this. You have any want for it?

Were they all the IEM ones?

They were all early MS270 and MS280`s sold at a local dealer, they were very low hour saws that the owners had yanked on them hard and popped the mounts, tore the manifolds and some needed carb rebuilds. Some had been pilfered for spare parts but out of 13 I put 10 back together and moved them on down the road. I don`t know what IEM means but they wern`t points saws...LOL

The one my neighbor had looked like it had been hammered on, fins missing and some material from the non-magnet side. It looked like junk to me.
Some people are not the smartest but you could try to even it out and break the other fines on the other side if you can’t fine one
