I bought my MS361 new in 12/05. It came with a 20” bar and was always a great saw to use. I did the Lakeside Andy muffle mod. You old timers here will remember him I’m sure, he was a very knowledgeable guy and very helpful to all. The BS finally ran him off I guess. Anyway as I acquired more saws the 361 got used less and less. I put a 18” bar with a 8 pin on it and turned it into my “ hot rod” saw. So yesterday I had some small trees to cut for a buddy and took her out. I was impressed all over, I forgot how good it cut and ran. It is a screamer over my 362. The 362 seems to have more torque but the 361 has the speed. What are your experiences?

I regret selling my muffler modded 361, but I did keep the 10mm 044. If they had stiffer AV I probably would still have it. Definitely a screamer of a saw and can be made into a beast of a 60cc saw with a good port job.

I personally like the 361 over the Strato 362 and it's lighter.
EPA ran off the 361, Imo.

I ran my brother's 362 last weekend and it ain't no slouch though and surprisingly fuel efficient.

My feelings as well. The 362 is a very capable saw. I keep a 20” bar on it. It just has different characteristics not necessarily better or worse just different. With my 441 with a 25” bar and my 660 with a 36” I’ve got several toys to play with

That's a really nice lineup there.
You may never need another saw......maybe a carb if you use corn. Lol

I always keep my eye out for a reasonably priced 361, but no luck yet. I do like my 360 with muffler mod and 20”. Pretty sure it is wearing a 7 tooth.
