Can u use the muffler from a poulan on a mccolloch chain saw? If not what will work with the brand mccolloch? Tia

Macs do just fine without a muffler. All mine have mufflers(or sheet metal cans that they CALL mufflers), and I still need earmuffs to run them. I suppose anything that would physically fit in the area would work, but the exhaust port and the mounting holes might need to be modified. If you have a poulan muffler lying around and time and tools on hand, then give it a shot. Otherwise, check the evilbay or your local want ad app etc. May be able to find a donor saw for nothing much. Might even give it to you. Check with local small engine shops. They might have some parts saws lying around.
These werent well loved by a lot of people. They were made later on in Macs history, after they were trying to go cheap to stave off Stihl and Husqvarna.
