I have my 021/025 torn apart and checked squish.
I would like to lower t about .008"
Problem is, I don't see hw it can be done by deleting gasket or machining material off the bottom of the jug.
The bearing and seal halves wold also need to be lowered the same amount.
Am I missing something?

Some people tole me that I can use a crank out of an 025
Is the 025 crank stroked .008" more than an 021"

A clam shell saw isn’t the same as a pro saw. There’s no gasket to delete and the bearing and seals are sandwiched. I’m not sure messing with it is a worthwhile endeavor. Don’t know about a different crank.

I see.
So I decided to apply a thin film of JB weld to the top of the piston.
After it hardens I will face the piston off until I get the right squish.
That should work

The stroke difference is .16 more so if the bearings fit you could probably make it work by shaving the piston or the top of the cylinder

So............ Is there .16 of material on top of piston that can be sacrificed?

just get a 250 they have compression running out their a$$ , one of the hardest pulling Stihls going. but if you want to play with stuff, the 026 would be a good one for you.

I don’t know why everyone says 250s have lots of compression they feel the same
