Just get it if you want a Stihl. The 261 is the only Stihl saw I'd be interested in.
You stihl dealer is cornfused. Ms261 is a much better saw than those other two!
For one firewood saw I'd want a Huskvarna 545 or 550xp. If I need large, 555 or 562xp.
Very good saw!
Yes I've notice how well Oregon BPX cuts, have used it for years. Stays sharp way longer than chisel.
My parents are 80 and still heat with wood. Ive been using wood since 1980. My son is 27 and heats with wood.
The largest shop around here has Husky & Stihl. Stocks .058 & .063 Stihl chain, any config you could want. Very little or no .050. I bought from...
Doesn't mater . I run .058 because that's what I've always run. 550xp is a dam n good saw!
Hot lil saw! This is why I like a 346 so much. I can process more firewood with a hot lil saw than I can with a big ol heavy clunker. I might need...
Very good saw! I've had one for years, with a 346 top end on it.
Nice choice of bourbon. My favorite!
I'm a 346xp guy (really no other saw I need), but had a chance to trade into a used 550xp, think it's a 2016. It also was a little spiced up by...
I've been running a old model 550xp for a year now and really like it. No issues at all.
If the cylinder will clean up, just put a new meteor piston in. Or get a new oem P&C for it. Well worth fixing.
261 if stihl. But 545 or 550xp Husqvarna is what I'd get..
I have 4 or 5 ported 346's and have switched all but one over to the 199 carbs. I can feel the difference. Well worth doin.
If using gas with ethanol, could have messed up the carb. Also check the fuel line.
Oldass tread, but a good one. I'm using a AWOL 550xp for most of my cutting now, with a couple ported 346s.
I will pull out a ported 357xp or...
I have 6 or so ported saws. They are tools I cut wood with.
Ive cut 10-15 cords a year with a 346xp for years. Now use it, a 550xp, 357xp & a 562xp. All great saws!
Ported 346xp, 357xp.
