I have used and a few new chainsaw parts to trade. Mostly last generation stihls this and that for other makes. Bars and chains for many brands and models. Cash also.

Withdrawn Stihl 026 intake boot and fuel line

Some one had a post somewhere requesting these parts. I can't find the post so hopefully this will get his attention.

    Echo model CST-610EVL twin Cylinder

I don't know about lately, but they used to go pretty high as a collector piece. Nice looking, and working, 600ish or more if I remember right. I had 1 needing a fair amount of repair, I think it was 250 to $300 that I sold it for here probably 10 + years ago.

In the market for a bigger saw

Consider your age and physical condition also. When you lose your prime whether age or physical mishaps you may not be able to start some saws so well. 28" bar an 80ish cc chainsaw usually spins them very well in hardwood. 70 cc will do it but not with authority. 90 cc if you want to do it...

Want to Sell Chainsaw Chains Stihl RM 115 link 36" .050 3/8 + the same in 106 links

Thinking about breaking down a few of these for my personal use on shorter bars.

    New saw.

Most newer model pro 60cc saws will give you about as much pulling power as an 041 with more rpm speed and lighter weight. More practical for a 20 to 24inch bar. The better 50cc saws will pull up to 20in bars well if you are not pushing them through a lot of big trunks or stumps like over...

Can vertical cracks in a tree cause it to barber chair while cutting down?

If there's little to no tension from leaning or wind, I would think low risk. When gravity or push or pull puts enough tension to cause fibers to break before their cut, no telling what, be ready to let go of the saw and move very, very quick. I prefer a low dollar saw when cutting high risk...

Want to Sell Poulan Pro Super 380

I know Mark. He is an longtime member and upright seller here. That is a well maintained and lottsa saw for $300. 2 days of work or less that saw could pay for itself.

    suggestion for catching a squirrel.

I never coul get them with the old spear type mole trap but friend catches them right and left with a newer style trap.

    Question I picked up a ms250

I never noticed that on 025's. Probably just some 250s I am thinking. Paying close attention for the pop it shouldn't be a problem once used to the saws characteristics. Seldom more then 5or6 pulls until the cylinder is primed on full choke. If pulled more then that I go to full throttle, no...

    suggestion for catching a squirrel.

I can vouch for that, depends on the size of your squirrels. They are very easy to catch if you chum them into the cage. Corn or any preferred squirrel food works well. Small bits of bait from the squirrels path leading to the opening of the cage door, and inside to the rear where there is...

    Stihl MS 250 Value

A nice saw like that with no issues and all oem parts should be worth 300ish and u probably could get in that neighborhood if it is well advertised and you can wait for the right buyer. As others said if a quick sale is important you may have to sell it cheaper .

    Wanting decent small cheap saw.

Echo CS400 is a nice saw or i like most the Stihls, ms170 to ms250. Some 250's are a bit hard pulling over to start if that's an issue. Echo CS400 has a nice pulling recoil starter and plenty of power for 10 inch and smaller wood. If u want light weight I don't think I would go bigger then that...

River birch and sycamore for firewood

River Birch is far better then cotton wood if split and dried properly. Since the bark is air tight splitting is neccesary unless u remove the bark otherwise it rots in the middle before it dries. Pretty sure it puts out more btu's then cherry , but i believe it burns a little faster.

    chainsaw ignorant , but i got a 400c 3 weeks ago

Sounds like you have a good start on equipment. I like having an inexpensive chainsaw along also with a short bar. If u need to make some cuts that obviously risk dulling the chain it takes less time sharpening back up and smaller chains and bars are cheaper to replace. Makes it easiar...

    chainsaw ignorant , but i got a 400c 3 weeks ago

Congratulations, sounds like an upgrade in life. When i was a newbie to using chainsaws an old guy told me , one of the biggest secrets to cutting wood is keeping a sharp chain. To do that, keep it out of the dirt , dirty wood and don't keep using it when it isn't throwing big chips and...

Which would you prefer MS046 or MS0462

Fact is, it tells you I had 2 lemons and you are not as smart as you think you are.

Which would you prefer MS046 or MS0462

First I had a new 55 about 1 to 2years. +1st off oiler wouldn't keep up and replaced it and shortly after would not run right.Took about a year to get it to run correctly long and well enough to cut a pickup load of wood and then i anxiously sold it for about 1/2 what i paid for it. I don't...

Which would you prefer MS046 or MS0462

The the first 2 Husqvarna saws i bought of that era usually never ran well enough for long enough to outcut any brand saw in a days work . That's what i would call turds and crappie . The filtration and less vibration is nice, but on the other hand when saw maintnence was kept up I had no issues...
