O/T Anyone here have satellite internet?

Man, I feel your pain. I live in the country and cannot get DSL or cable. My dad lives 10 miles north of me and was able to get DSL. He had satalite. It was faster than dial up if it was not raining, but for me the performance was not worth the cost. In my area we have Pixius which is...

    Concrete Chain Saw

Does anyone have experiance with the concrete chain saws? We have a job coming up and the cost of hiring out the wall sawing will exceed the price of a Partner chain saw and a couple of extra chains. This is an easy job and will require a large number of short cuts instead of a few long cuts...

    Gas Container Recommendation?

I like a can made by chilton, but I can not find them any more. They have a fixed spout with a slight bend in the end and a plastic cap that is attached. I liked the idea of the piggyback and bought one from Baileys. I hate the pull out spouts. I took a couple of chilton spouts (I had to...

    Husky 44 chainsaw

Let me know what you need. I purchased a parts saw to repair mine and have some left over parts. I will check on the fuel line if you still need it. I think that the 44 is a great little saw, but mine does not see much use any more. I usually grab the 5100 instead. Jim

Which pole saw do you suggest?

FWIW, I have a HT101 and love it. If the 131 would have been out, I would have purchased it. More power always seems better. I have never run an Echo. I am a little worried about the shaft long term. They do take a beating. I have pulled my apart a couple of times, and the branches often...

    7900 or 385xp

I have owned both saws, I need to change my signature because I no longer have my 385. That tells you my opinion on this subject. Jim

    Will It Happen Someday???

I sure hope they get it done. I love my Dolmar's. When I get some time I am going to have Sawinredneck up to my place to give him some Hackberry, when he does, he is going to get to play with my Dolmars, he better sell some of the wood I give him because he will adding a couple of new saws to...

    Great Prices on Dolmar Saws?

Ebay prices can be crazy, I can't belive that people would buy a saw there for only a 5% savings, but I see it all the time also. I paid under 500.00 for my 9010 NIB. Could not pass it up. Jim

    Looking at dolmar's

Some of us would say that there is no saw comparable to the 5100:cheers: Jim

    Great Prices on Dolmar Saws?

Good thread. I have mixed feelings about selling via internet. On the one hand, I like buying direct for less money, I can set up my own saws and barring a major warranty issue, I will pay for parts and fix it myself. On the other hand, the Stihl model seems to work well for them. I...

    opinions on dolmar 9010

I can't help you with the saws you are comparing it to, but I can tell you that it way out cuts the 385xp. My only complaint is that it is a little heavy, but or milling that should not be a concern. I generally only use mine for cutting stumps and occasionally bucking up large trees. I just...

    Dolmar/Makita accessories

I will do some checking. My wife works very part time (like 1-2 days a month on average) for the company she used to work full time for. They have a water jet and can cut from a cad program. Next time she works I will have her ask if they will do it for me and what it would cost. Hopefully...

Help on my first "Real" Saw

I think that you need to give serious consideration to how much of the really big wood you will be cutting and what the average sized wood will be. The 660 will do everything you want to do, but with a high price tag and extra weight. If you expect to be cutting a lot of big wood it may be the...

    Dolmar/Makita accessories

FWIW those all look great. I like the one on the left the best. I am curious to see how your pricing comes out. I don't use the dawgs on my 5100 much, but if the price is low enough, I will take a set. Jim

I joined the Big Stihl club today.

Thanks Lakeside, I saw 1/2 a case on Ebay, but it seemed a little high. I have pleanty of time to keep my eyes open, the Big bore kit is back ordered unitl Jan 7th. Who know what will turn up between now and then. Jim

I joined the Big Stihl club today.

I was out of town and stopped in to a farm store that sells Stihls and ask if they had any 046/46/66 parts saws. They had a used 066 that they had not gone through yet, but would sell for 250.00. The compression felt good and I took it. Turns out the piston is scored, but I was planning a...

    Best wheel for Silvery 510?

Sorry, no help to your question, but I have one for you. I am going to purchase a chain grinder, but am trying to decide on which one to buy. I keep leaning toward the 300-350 range models that I think are similar to your prosharp, but then I condider the silvey 510. My chain volume will be...

Looking to pruchase a new 75 to 80 cc saw

I generally do not sell equipment I own. If I buy a duplicate, then I just have a spare. I am selling my 385. I like the 385 and it is a great saw, but I will never use it. When I look on my shelf and have to decide to pick up the 385 or the 7900, not even a seconds worth of thought. Last...

looking for a bar and chain

Bailey's Bailey's Bailey's. I use the Windsor Speed Tip bars and the Woodsman Pro chain. I think that most of the solid bars that they sell are good. The Woodman Pro bars are expensive and weigh more. For me it is not worth the extra money to carry around extra weight. Jim
