    Got the sprocket off:-) Very easy with the right tool... Got a puller, at first it was a bit to big to fit the sprocket, but grinded it Down to fit and it worked very well!

    Thanks mate. I dont have a puller that small, but i will try to find a smaller puller that might fit. I dont belive its possible to find the Stihl puller anymore.

    I would like to reuse it ;-) The bearing is worn, so im rebuilding the gearbox. But cant get the chain sprocket off...

    Can anyone help with a good puller to the job or an easy way to remove the chain sprocket?? Its a very tight fit, and i dont have at puller there can fit in there. Help please :-)

    Maybe your saw has had it oilcover replaced? I have seen a few with this special cover. All had serial around 112.000 just like mine. And my theory is that this cover was used just before the manual oiler came on the saws in 1960. Production of the Contra from serial 83.000 to 112.000 did not...

    I have one just like that, i have postet picutes of it in this thread and the pictures has been copyed to other sites on the net. It seems that this oilpump cover was only used on saws with serial nr. around 112.000. What is the serial on your saw?? /Steffen

    I have found a bit special Stihl Contra. The saw has a metal topcover, it dont seems to be original. It also has a home made muffler it seems. A bit fun saw i think. .

    Ignition test on the old Bosch points ignition

    No problems mate Yes the flyweel is still magnetic and the key is fine and in the right place. I have not checked the gabs, but i can so later this week when i have the time.
