There is a second path for air to directly enter via the rear of the stove into the secondary chamber. The primary air enters from the front and "washes" past the glass. You can see one of the air supply holes at the center of this photo.

If dressing the bar doesn't resolve the problem, the engine may be the culprit. The saw may not be making enough power to run with the bar buried in hardwood. This happened to me two years ago. Wound up replacing the carb.

Depends what is meant by "done". I shifted from cottonwood and tulip poplar to cherry and locust, but will shift back if/when the forecast warmup occurs.

Get a used jd jx-75. 6.75 HP Kawasaki and blade brake clutch. One of the best at bagging mowers around. It is not quite as good at mulching. Honda hrx217hya is a good choice if you mulch most of the time, but is not that good at bagging.
